Sustainable Livelihoods & Income Opportunities
We support local and Indigenous communities in their efforts to develop alternative, culturally grounded sources of income that align with environmental conservation. In contrast to destructive industrial activities that threaten ecosystems and traditional ways of life, our programs promote sustainable practices that honor both cultural heritage and biodiversity. We work collaboratively to identify and strengthen income-generating activities—such as community-based ecotourism and the sustainable harvesting of forest products—that empower communities economically while protecting their lands and traditions.
Supporting Amazonian Artisans.
We are partnering with AOWARE (Asociación de Okienani Waorani de Orellana), a grassroots collective representing Indigenous Waorani women in the remote Orellana province of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
Together, we support the growth of OBATAWE, AOWARE’s artisan collective, by facilitating the expansion of their sustainable products. Our efforts focus on building a distribution network that brings their exceptional handmade products to broader markets in the United States.
